Tadcaster Albion pulled a massive rabbit out of the hat as Billy Miller’s men struck three times in the dying minutes to come from behind to beat Pickering Town.
Pickering, managed by Tadcaster legend Paul Marshall, had led for the majority of the night. Matty Turnbull got his head to a Pickering free kick and their 1-0 lead remained intact until the death.
Even then it was fortunate as Andy Milne’s header was deemed to have crossed the line by the eagle-eyed assistant referee.
Tadcaster escaped seconds later as Pickering forward Ged Dalton almost scored.
The frantic finale fell into Tadcaster’s favour. Again it was from a corner, but there was no doubt about whether it crossed the line as captain Jimmy Beadle’s header powered into the net.
If that was good, the visiting supporters were in dreamland 60 seconds later as Carl Stewart broke through to provide Adam Baker with an unbelievable third goal for Tad.
Tadcaster Albion: Stevens, Armstrong, Clayton, Milne, Anderson, Mycoe, Beadle (captain), Sellars, Jono Greening, Corner, Josh Greening. Subs: Baker, Stewart, Heath, Barrett, Conway.
