Toolstation NCEL Division One
Hull United’s fate has been finally confirmed after the Toolstation Northern Counties East League have confirmed that they will be relegated.
Whether this will earn Worsbrough Bridge a reprieve, it is unclear at this moment in time.
Hull’s impending departure after just one season in the NCEL is not a shock as it was well-known that they had failed to find a suitable ground by the March 31st deadline.
Hull finished the season having to play every game away from home having left Dene Park in October and then Hull KR’s Craven Park in January.
The league said in a statement: “The League Management Board at its meeting on 14th April 2016 considered League Rules 2.3.2 and 2.6 MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS in respect of Hull United FC.
“The FA/League requirement is that all clubs must submit details by 31st March details of the ground to the standard required (Rule 2.6) for an uninterrupted period of the minimum of the next Playing Season (Rule 2.3.2).
“Hull United FC failed to provide any documentation to confirm a ground for season 2106/17 of either ownership, lease or ground-share to the satisfaction of the Board.
“Any club not maintaining the grade set for the Competition may be relegated at the end of the Playing Season to a Step determined by the FA.”
“The Board therefore decided that as Hull United FC, not having received a grading certificate by 31st March and not having a alternative proposal approved at the relevant Board Meeting, it shall be relegated forthwith at the end of the playing season to a level determined by the Football Association.
“At the request of the club it is confirmed that the Board has not made this decision public until after Hull United FC has played its last match of season 2015/16 (18/04/16).
“Any appeal against this decision must be made to the Football Association as per League Rule 17 PROTESTS AND APPEALS.”
Hull finished their season with the 9-0 defeat at Dronfield Town on Monday night.
