Chris Jackson’s goal fired Selby Town into the FA Cup

It was mission accomplished for Nigel Emery and Reuben Pearse as Selby Town booked their ticket to the FA Cup next season.

The pair are now totally in the driving seat to become the permanent bosses at the Fairfax Plant Hire Stadium after fulfilling their targets since taking charge in February.

Chris Jackson was the hero for Selby with his 28th minute goal.

There were a few nervy moments for Selby, including a disallowed goal for Hall Road, but Jackson’s strike was the decisive moment.

Shirebrook Town 1-0 Worsbrough Bridge

Luckless Worsbrough Bridge were beaten by a late Oliver Beaumont strike at Shirebrook Town.

Worsbrough, who lost to two last minute goals at Knaresborough on Thursday night, had a goal disallowed early on.

Knaresborough Town 0-0 AFC Emley

AFC Emley and Knaresborough Town battled out a competitive goal-less draw at Manse Lane.

Sam Jerome missed Emley’s best chance after forcing a save from goalkeeper Jack Rushworth. He pounced on the rebound, but placed the ball wide.

Knaresborough finished strongly, but were unable to score.

AFC Mansfield 0-0 Hallam

AFC Mansfield joined Hemsworth in the Premier Division after finally winning promotion.

There was little to talk about apart from the first half withdrawal of Hallam’s star striker Michael Blythen. Hallam insist that it was a precautionary move, with Wednesday’s play-offs semi-final at Bottesford Town.
