Steve Shorthouse has resigned as chairman of Goole AFC
Goole AFC have announced the shock resignation of chairman Steve Shorthouse.
Mr Shorthouse has been the chairman of Goole since the turn of 2015 and has played a major part in the rebuilding of the Vikings.
A short statement said: “It is with deep regret that today we have to announce the resignation of our chairman Steve Shorthouse.
“Steve took over the club in January 2015 and has since worked tirelessly with co-director Craig Whincup to increase sponsorship and eradicate the historic debt at the club.
“He has now decided the time is right to concentrate his time on his family and his own business interests.
“Everyone at the club would like to thank Steve for his guidance and contribution over his tenure and we would all like to wish Steve and his family all the very best for the future.”
