Toolstation NCEL Premier Division
Matt Heath is hoping for the best Bank Holiday weekend ever after Tadcaster Albion clinched the title last night.
Assistant manager Heath will receive his medal when Tadcaster receive the Premier Division trophy tomorrow afternoon. He is then pinning his hopes on his hometown and former club Leicester City winning the Premier League title at Manchester United on Sunday.
Heath came through the Foxes academy and went onto play 50 times for them between 2001 and 2004.
“It could be the best weekend in the world if Leicester go to Old Trafford and get a win,” the former Leeds United defender told Non League Yorkshire.
“We’re going out camping this weekend, hopefully the weather will hold out and we’ve already found a pub where we are going that has Sky Sports on.
“I’ll be raising a glass if Leicester can do it. I don’t know if people realise how big an achievement it would be Leicester do win it, because of the amount of money that is in the Premier League now.
“I know Clough did it at Forest and went onto win the European Cup twice, but there’s a bigger gulf now. It is a credit to them, they’ve had a game-plan all season and they’ve stuck to it.”
