Liversedge beat Clipstone to all but secure their Premier Division status

Liversedge all but completed the great escape with their third straight victory.

Only a dramatic swing on the goals-difference column and two defeats in their final matches will prevent ‘Sedge from remaining in the Premier Division.

Their captain Tom Brook fired them ahead with an early goal, but it wasn’t until the second half that the party could begin.

Benny Igiehon, whose goals have arguably kept ‘Sedge up, struck twice in 12 second half minutes.

Tino Chibharo then sealed the victory with their fourth of the night. Nicky Walker scored a late consolation for Clipstone.

In the League Cup, Bridlington booked a semi-final tie with Cleethorpes Town after beating Thackley 3-2.

Bridlington surrendered a two-goal, given to them by Joel Sutton and Tom Fleming. Andrew Wood and Ryan Farrell scored for Thackley.

Sutton then spared Bridlington’s blushes away with the winner.
