Keith Usher is standing down as chairman of Pickering Town after seven years in the role.

Mr Usher, who was also the secretary of York City for many years, wants to spend more time with his family. He will be still going to their home matches as he is purchasing a season ticket.

He will relinquish the role in early July at the club’s AGM.

The club said: “The present committee know how hard and how loyal Keith has been to the club, we wish him well and hope he enjoys a very deserved long and happy retirement.

“Of course following the Pikes when he can, as a committee we are sure you will join us in offering a huge thank you to the work Keith has done for the club, and wish him well as he departs from the chairman’s role.”

Pickering have also announced their pre-season friendly fixtures. The Pikes will play champions Tadcaster Albion, Knaresborough Town, Pocklington Town, Scarborough, Sunderland RCA and Whitby.
