Toolstation NCEL Division One
AFC Emley manager Darren Hepworth has managed to persuade 73-goal hero Ash Flynn to remain at the Welfare Ground for next season.
Flynn has had offers from elsewhere, but has committed himself to helping Emley win promotion. The announcement is the latest positive story to come out of Emley since the play-off final defeat to Bottesford Town. Last week, Flynn’s strike partner Kieran Ryan was made captain.
AFC Emley chairman Nigel Wakefield said: “We’ve just had a brilliant season and Ash was absolutely at the forefront of that. But with the play-off final defeat there’s a sense of unfinished business and I’m delighted he’s coming back to help us try and put that right.”
Flynn, in his second spell at the club, received worldwide coverage for his goal-scoring heroics.
The board of the Toolstation NCEL has also invited him to the annual dinner in Scarborough next month to mark the achievement.
