Local lads Danny Frost and Kieran Scargill are among the first three players to sign up for Shaw Lane AFC this summer.
Cult hero and proven goal-scorer Frost returns to Shaw Lane for his third stint with them, after a year away at Spennymoor and then Ossett Town. He scored the goals to take them to promotion from the Toolstation NCEL Division One. A move to Bradford (Park Avenue) followed, but he returned on deadline day in March 2015 and helped them clinch the Premier Division title in dramatic fashion.
Scargill is well-thought of in Barnsley from his days with rivals Athersley Rec. The talented midfielder spent the end of last season with Handsworth Parramore.

One member of last season’s team has committed himself so far. That is defender Oscar Radford. He joined from Matlock Town in September and slowly cemented himself into the centre-back berth alongside Rhys Meynell.
