Guiseley ran out comfortable winners against Parkgate in both teams’ first pre-season friendly.

Both teams had some good chances in the first half with Guiseley having the better of the two as Oli Johnson had a shot which came back off the bar and Adam Smith saw two shots fly over the bar.

Guiseley should have had a penalty during the first half as Johnson got away from his marker and being brought down but the referee adjudged the Parkgate defender had won the ball.

Into the second half and Guiseley’s pressure paid off as striker Adam Boyes scored his first goal of the game on 56 minutes and soon later he got his second after some great work which involved Will Hatfield on 59 minutes.

Guiseley had more chances to score but Parkgate denied them before Hatfield completed the scoring on 89 minutes after Boyes had took away three defenders and Hatfield curled home a brilliant finish into the bottom corner.

Guiseley (1st half): Dan Atkinson, Danny East, Nicky Clee, Javan Vidal, Trialist, Adam Lockwood, Adam Smith, Sam Wright (T), Michael Rankine, Devonte Morton and Oli Johnson.
Guiseley (2nd half): Myles Foley (A, Dan Atkinson, Sam Whittington A), Lee Spires (T), Scott Smith (A), Jake Lawlor, Ashley Palmer, Joel Logan (T), Will Wells, Will Hatfield, Adam Boyes and Jordan Preston (T).
