The Lugden brothers, Kieran and Kelvin, have become the latest big name signings at Shaw Lane AFC.

The well-known identical twins are old adversaries of Shaw Lane’s from the memorable two-part FA Vase quarter-final tie with Glossop North End last year.

The Lugsdens have been a major part of Glossop’s successes over the last few years. They both played in the 2015 Vase final defeat to North Shields at Wembley. Centre-back Kelvin is certainly in the club legend bracket because he has made over 400 appearances for them. Kieran is a striker.

Craig Elliott told Non League Yorkshire: “I’m absolutely over the moon to get them to the club.

“As soon as I was aware that they were available, I knew I wanted them at the club. Their record at Glossop is absolutely immense.

“I think anyone who knows them or is aware of them will recognise their capture as a major thing for Shaw Lane.”

Elliott isn’t finished either as he is planning to confirm another headline grabbing signing at some point in the next few days.

Shaw Lane’s squad is getting increasingly stronger. Gavin Allott, Jon Stewart, Danny Frost and Darren Thornton are among those who have signed forms.
