Former Leeds United midfielder Simon Walton trained with Garforth Town on Thursday night.
Sherburn-born Walton was released by League Two outfit Crawley Town at the end of last season.
Walton made Leeds debut at just 16 under Kevin Blackwell in 2004 and since had permanent deals in the Football League for Charlton Athletic, Queens Park Rangers, Plymouth Argyle, Hartlepool United and Stevenage.
Joining Walton was Steve Mallory, who left Scarborough Athletic in bizarre circumstances earlier this week.
Mallory turned up to train and sign for the Seadogs, but the midfielder has alleged that Steve Kittrick launched a tirade at him after he tried to negotiate a deal – amid interest from Shaw Lane AFC and Farsley Celtic.
Mallory then left Scarborough’s training base without taking part in the session.
Mallory does have a connection to Miners boss Rob Hunter as he played under him at Bardsey. The pair have remained friends ever since.
Hunter has bolstered his squad even further since the 5-4 win at Eccleshill United on Saturday.
Midfielder Jack McMurrough, who played for Garforth briefly under Graham Nicholas in 2013, has returned after a stint with Liversedge.
He put pen-to-paper with several other players. Garforth are next in action at Huntington Rovers on Monday night.
