Jack Steers was given a heroes send-off when he left for Australia in February
Popular centre-back Jack Steers is set to return to Hemsworth Miners Welfare at the end of this month.
Steers is heading back from playing in Australia earlier than Wayne Benn expected and will compete with Harry Viggars and Luke Danville for the centre-back jerseys.
He was given a heroes send-off in February as he had played a key role in putting the Wells on course for the Division One title.
“Jack will be coming back towards the end of July (from Australia) and re-signing with us,” Benn said.
“He has given me his word that he’ll re-sign for us and it is a great boost for us because it gives us more options defensively.”
