Eli Hey scored the last gasp equaliser as Toolstation NCEL Division One new-boys Campion drew 2-2 with Thackley.

Scott Eastwood had earlier cancelled out Ryan Farrell’s first half opener for Thackley. Former Bradford City midfielder Craig Bentham appeared to have won it for Thackley with a stunning strike.

Luke Harrop’s treble guided Eccleshill United to a 3-0 victory at Golcar United.

Parkgate and Ossett Town battled out a goal-less draw.

Maltby Main lost 2-0 at 2012 FA Vase winners Dunston UTS in the first part of their North East tour.

In a very competitive game, Main shaded the first half with Reilly and Carroll coming close. In the second half Wesley came close with a header from a set play before Dunston took the lead on 35 minutes after a misplaced back pass was intercepted and finished to go 1-0 up. Before the break an unsighted Danny Rusling made a superb save to the left to keep the score at 1-0.

Main were on the front foot at the start of the second half and Darker struck the post from close range. On 70 minutes Fletcher hacked down the Dunston no 10 and the resulting penalty was dispatched past Rusling. In the last 20 minutes Dunston had the better of the exchanges in what was a very evenly matched contest.

Maltby Main Spencer Fearn: The game we said to the players that it was the performance that mattered and it certainly was a fantastic performance. The energy, tempo and commitment that these lads showed in their second pre-season friendly was first class.  We looked very dangerous going forward, solid at the back and Darker was immense in central midfield. What was pleasing was to see two of our younger players Jack Greeves and Jack Binney stand out playing at this level for the first time, they were both excellent. Overall there were some real positives to take from the game.”

Main had a training session at Redheugh Boys club on Friday morning, the place where legend Paul Gascoigne played his football as a kid.
