Steve Nicholson’s never-ending career is entering a new chapter as Ossett Albion manager Richard Tracey has added the full-back to his coaching staff.

The 44-year-old is still carrying on playing though and will start a remarkable 25th season in semi-professional football – also his fifth at Ossett.

Fireman Nicholson began his Non League career at Farsley Celtic under Denis Metcalf after being released by Leeds United. He then moved onto Emley in 1994, the club where he enjoyed his greatest moment – captaining the village side in the famous FA Cup third round tie at West Ham.

He does have management experience as for 12 months he was the player/manager of Wakefield FC at the turn of the decade.

Nicholson will work alongside Tracey, Eric Gilchrist and Luke Potter in his new role.
