Knaresborough Town have the bragging rights over local rivals Harrogate Railway after Sam Cook’s second half goal.

Cook pounced with a deflected effort in the closing stages to clinch a deserved 1-0 victory for the Toolstation NCEL Division One side.

Knaresborough created several good chances, while lacklustre Railway never really got going.

Bridlington Town enjoyed a coffer-swelling day when the Leeds United under 21s came to Queensgate.

A superb crowd of 333 watched Leeds win 6-3 in an end-to-end encounter. Brett Agnew (2) and Danny Chambers were on the score-sheet for Bridlington.

The Leeds under 18s squad visited Nostell Miners Welfare and won 2-1.

It was new-look Nostell’s first game under the guidance of Graham Nicholas and one of his young prodigies Kyle Smith scored their goal.

Greg Pearson’s wonder goal earned Frickley Athletic a 1-1 draw against former boss Billy Heath’s FC Halifax Town.

Bradford (Park Avenue) had a morale-boosting 7-0 victory at Consett – Jack Ryan (2), Harry Coates, Chris Sharp, Leon Osbourne, Liam Dickinson and Ben Jago scored.

Hall Road Rangers lost 3-0 to Sculcotes Amateurs.
