Rob Northfield is officially back as chairman of Harrogate Railway after being elected at their recent AGM.

Mr Northfield came back to Station View earlier this year as an advisor, seven years after stepping down as chairman. He was previously at the helm in the late 2000s, most notably during the famous 2007 run to the FA Cup second round proper.

Mr Northfield has also had spells as the chairman of Guiseley and Tadcaster Albion.

“It is an honour to be Chairman of a club that is so close to my heart. Great people, great values, and we are going to have some fun along the way,” said Mr Northfield, who replaces Nigel Corner.

“Harrogate Railway has always had potential that most others clubs could never have. It is now our responsibility as a team to realise at least some of that potential.

“It is important we forge stronger links with the community of Starbeck, the Juniors and Ladies football teams.”
