Clayborn, the home of Liversedge

Despite all the well-publicised pitch problems, Liversedge managed to pull off the great escape. ‘Sedge looked doomed at Christmas, but an influx of players and the backlog of fixtures helped pull them off-the-bottom of the table and finish in an unlikely 14th place.

Manager

Jonathan Rimmington

Rimmington, who was previously the club’s under 19s manager, enters his second term as ‘Sedge boss. He is a well known figure on the local football circuit and is regularly seen at other matches.

Opening Five Fixtures

Guisborough Town (H), AFC Mansfield (A), Armthorpe Welfare (H), Staveley Miners Welfare (A), Handsworth Parramore (A).

Player Movement

In: Danny Hull (Yorkshire Amateur), Steve Wales, Rob Mallender, Jassiah Donaldson (Yorkshire Amateur), Jevan Benjamin, Jake Thompson.

Out: Benny Igiehon (Scarborough Athletic)

One to Watch

Steve Wales

Former Nostell winger Steve Wales (right)

The winger, if fully fit, was a massive player for Nostell under Paul Lines. When he ruled out injured at the start of last season, it massively de-railed Nostell’s hopes.

  1. Sedge finished 14th above Retford and Garforth last season i recall, pretty good for a new management team that were new to the league and i wouldn’t be surprised they finish higher than your prediction. They finished 5 unbeaten also. I do not know the players they have signed hopefully they will add something to the squad. The signings made last season that they brought in were decent as the results showed so i have confidence they will do it again. regards Rich
