Kelvin Lugsden has been released from Pinderfields Hospital in Wakefield after dislocating his elbow in Shaw Lane’s abandoned friendly at Ossett Albion.

He is ruled out for the start of the new season. The centre-back only joined the Ducks in July after leaving Glossop North End.

“I’ve been to see him today and he’s going to be out for a month so it is not as bad as first thought,” Craig Elliott said.

“They got it (the elbow) back in (on-the-pitch), but it took three attempts. It was a bit of a farce because he obviously went into shock and we had to wait nearly an hour for an ambulance when there are three hospitals nearby.”

The score was 1-1 after just 20 minutes when Lugsden went down injured. After an hour delay, the friendly was halted.

Shaw Lane are now looking for an opponent for a friendly on Monday night.
