Graham Nicholas has bolstered his Nostell Miners Welfare attack with the addition of two strikers.

Jake Mason arrives from Hallam and is a player that Nicholas previously coached at Sheffield United’s academy. Nicholas describes him as a “outstanding young player”.

Alex Stacey is the second new face at Crofton and joins from Worksop Town. The forward also made a handful of appearances for Buxton’s first team over year ago.

There is another connection to the two players as Nicholas also taught them at Winterhill School in Rotherham.

Nostell kick off their league campaign tomorrow with the visit of promotion-chasing Penistone Church. Although their Emirates FA Cup tie with Maine Road ended in defeat after a replay, Nicholas will buoyed by the two promising displays in both games.
