Prodigal son Nick Guest has rejoined Hemsworth Miners Welfare on a permanent basis after a brief flirtation with Ossett Town.

The striker did sign for Ossett in June, but he has since had a change of heart and will be back spearheading Hemsworth’s attack.

He was going to be dual-registered anyway, hence why he was a second half substitute at Parkgate on Wednesday night.

It is a major boost for the Wells ahead of their first home league game of the season against Garforth Town tomorrow.

Guest was a major hit during his first spell at the MDC Community Stadium as he scored over 30 times when they finished third in Division One last year. He spent last season with Farsley Celtic and Goole AFC.

Wayne Benn is expected to confirm a further new signing very soon.
