Parkgate manager Steve Adams watched his side lose to Clipstone

Parkgate had two new signings in the squad for the trip to Clipstone as Sheffield FC pair Jonathan Fuscoe and Joe Knowles signed in time.

After six minutes home keeper Steve Hernandez pulled off a double save to prevent Ben Thornton giving Parkgate the lead.

Other than  that there were no clear cut chances in the  first 20 minutes.  Parkgate debutant Jonathan Fuscoe saw his 34th minute effort saved by  Steve Hernandez but two minutes later Fuscoe  gave Parkgate the lead with a well angled shot. They held their advantage for only four minutes as a poorly defended free kick  from James Ashmore restored parity.

The introduction of Lebrun Mbeka  for the second half gave a glimmer of hope as he briefly troubled the home defence.

On 60 minutes another calamitous moment in defence saw Chris Salt put Clipstone in front with a free header.

A poor performance overall was again punished on 77 minutes when Ellis Wall  seized on a loose ball after some inept defending to make it 3-1.

The Team

Parkgate: J Lill, Yates, Mumbanya, Shelton (captain), Garner, Cuckson (Davies), Jessop,  Hutchinson, Fuscoe, Thornton (Mbeka), Preece.
