Hemsworth Miners Welfare scored twice in the final five minutes to rescue a point in a dramatic 2-2 draw with Bridlington Town.
The Division One champions were staring down the barrel of their first defeat of the season until late intervention.
An own goal from Sam Leigh and a Joel Sutton strike had seemingly put Bridlington on course for three points in their opening league game.
However, Daniel Henighan dragged the Wells back into it with time running out before Nash Connolly made himself the hero with the equaliser.
Handsworth Parramore breezed past Armthorpe Welfare by scoring four first half goals without reply.
Jon Froggatt, Kieron Wells, Tom Claisse and Sam Denton produced the goods.
