Wayne Benn hopes fortune will favour the brave as Hemsworth Miners Welfare bid to pull off a gigantic upset in the FA Cup.

The Wells visit Evo Stik Division One North side Mossley, but they won’t be sitting back and playing for the draw.

“It is a game that can look forward to,” Benn told Non League Yorkshire.

“To go away to any Evo Stik is going to be a tough task, but we’ll travel in numbers and enjoy our day.

“If we can perform somewhere near our very best, then who knows, maybe we can surprise Mossley.

“It is certainly not out of the question that we can get a result. Obviously there is finance on the game and it is huge for clubs like us so you would like to think it would give us that extra motivation.

“We will go and express ourselves and see what we can do.

“I will try and do some on homework on them to get a feel for how they set up and who their danger men are.

“I always preach to my players that it is about us and if we perform, if we stay strong and if we keep our shape, then we can trouble anyone.”

Cameron Clark is suspended for the trip to Mossley

Unsurprisingly. there will be an invasion of Hemsworth fans at Mossley.

At least one coach is heading over the Pennines and Benn says there will be a fantastic atmosphere.

“There’s a full bus and maybe some overspill,” he added.

“It is going to be a great day, regardless of the result. It is a bit of an adventure for the club and it would be unbelievable if we won the game.

“Whatever happens, the supporters will make sure it is a great day.”

Left-back Cameron Clark starts his three-match suspension for the red card he received after the brawl in the Runcorn Linnets game, in the last round.
