Emirates FA Cup
Pontefract Collieries progressed to the first qualifying round for the first time since 1997 after beating Bootle 2-1 at Beechnut Lane.
Pontefract will now host Tadcaster Albion in two weeks’ time with the chance of creating new Colls history.
First half goals from Josh Corbett and club captain Mark Whitehouse guided the Colls through.
The FA Cup adventure is over for AFC Emley, Parkgate and Hemsworth Miners Welfare.
Emley were beaten 3-2 at North West Counties side Maine Road. Ash Flynn did level it up at 1-1, but two quick-fire goals gave the Manchester-based side a comfortable lead.
Liam Schofield gave Emley late hope, but they were unable to force a equaliser.
Parkgate’s dream ended with a 4-1 home defeat to higher league Burscough. Lebrun Mbeka was on the score-sheet for Burscough.
Hemsworth were unable to cause a shock at Mossley and were beaten 4-0.
