Evo Stik Division One South
Shaw Lane AFC 2-2 Northwich Victoria
Lethargic Shaw Lane had to settle for a point, despite Northwich had to play with ten men for the whole of the second half.
The afternoon began in a positive fashion for the Barnsley-based side as Spencer Harris headed home Jono Wafula’s cross during their first attack.
An own goal from captain Ryan Qualter levelled the scores, but the Ducks quickly caught their visitors out on the counter attack again. Gavin Allott did the hard bit by pulling away from a defender before threading the through ball for Jason Yates. The former Hemsworth captain did the rest with a composed finish.
Most would have thought that the correct dismissal of John Pritchard three minutes into the second half for hauling down an away Wafula would have killed Northwich off.
The opposite happened as it merely spurred them on. The Vics became even more harder to break down and Yaw Gyimah went onto catch the Ducks out on the break – earning Northwich their second point of the campaign.

Who Was In Charge
Pete Walker (10/10)
Walker had an excellent display. He was calm and composed throughout. He dealt with a brawl very well, without throwing cards around like some officials would. The red card was his high point. He didn’t rush, he took his time and consulted his assistant Steve Lynch to ensure the correct decision was made.
