Emirates FA Cup
Harrogate Railway v Consett
Unsurprisingly, their latest FA Cup adventure has created a lot of excitement at Harrogate Railway.
Railway reached the second round proper in 2002 and 2007 and Lee Ashforth is hoping his side can add another chapter to the famous history.
“It is a big occasion and another test tough in Consett because they’re a good side,” Ashforth said.
“They’re good upfront and they’re going to be a handful, but this club is reaped in history and we had a few days to put Tuesday (the 7-0 defeat to Handsworth) to bed.
“We’ve earned £3000 so far and it is nice to be still in it. I know there are only a handful of teams from our league still in it so it is nice to have gone through two rounds.
“Every year everyone around the club talks about the past Cup runs. To get to the Second Round proper twice is phenomenal for a club of this size so it always raises expectations level.
“I’m sure they will again and everyone coming on Saturday will coming hoping to see us get another win.”
