Paul Marshall has confirmed that Pickering Town are set to sign the son of a York City legend.
Jules Gabbiadini is the son of former York, Sunderland, Derby County and Darlington striker Marco. Gabbiadini senior was seen in the stands during the Pikes’ 3-0 at Garforth Town on Saturday.
“I’m trying to sign Jules Gabbiadini, but we just have to wait for his international clearance,” he said.
“He’s an attacking midfielder and he’s been in America at Charleston University.”
Marshall also admitted that Pickering are struggling with injuries and the unavailability of players.
“We have got a lot of injuries with George Bissett and Matty Turnbull out,” he said.
“I also had to bring Ben Hirst (whose work commitments rule him out playing on a regular basis) with us to Garforth because Calum Ward is holiday, Pete Laurie is on holiday, Sam Calvert is on holiday. I have to thank Ben for helping us out.
“We also have Lewis (Taylor) and Niall (Tilsley) missing a week so why they book holidays in the season, I don’t know?
“They’re young lads, they should have plenty of time to book a holiday before the season starts and it does wind you up when you’re missing you’re better players in September.”
Pickering host manager-less Armthorpe Welfare on Tuesday night.
I to agree with Marshy players are not committed I personally never did wedding’s in football season but one ray of hope for Selby town is i got a text from a player saying cut my expenses not playing well enough after Saturday’s defeat the whole team should be looking at them selves
