Struggling Armthorpe Welfare are set to announce their new manager this morning, less than 12 hours after the 3-0 defeat at Pickering Town.
Brian Johnston’s replacement was picked on Monday night after the committee interviewed three candidates. The chosen one is understood to have managed before in the NCEL.
This person faces a big challenge as Armthorpe have scored just once this season. For the second consecutive game Welfare were reduced to ten men as this time Danny Bulman was sent off with 14 minutes to to play.
Pickering took the lead in the 40th minute when Joe Danby’s corner somehow found its way straight into the net and they added a second goal on 66 minutes from Ged Dalton.
Bulman received his marching orders on 76 minutes for pushing and the ten men contained the Pikes until deep into injury time when Lewis Taylor scored the home side’s third goal from the penalty spot.
