Selby celebrated their first home win of the season after overcoming Shirebrook Town.

Selby made a positive start when Liam Flanagan hammered in a beauty from an acute angle after being put through by Chris Jackson in the 14th minute.

It was almost like watching an action replay at the Leisure Centre end just after the half hour mark when once again Chris Jackson put Liam Flanagan through on the far side. He turned his marker and almost from the same spot fired home his and Selby’s second.

Chance after chance went begging in the second half and Selby should really have had a hatful with a bit more composure in front of goal.

There was some squeaky-bum time as Shirebrook pulled a goal back through Mark Robinson. Fortunately Selby held on to secure a deserved victory.
