In-form Tom Corner’s fifth goal of the season extended Tadcaster Albion’s unbeaten run to six matches.

Manager Billy Miller made four changes to the side that beat Pontefract Collieries in the FA Cup. Josh Barrett, Jason Mycoe, Josh Greening and Jono Greening were all back in the starting line-up.

Taddy got off to the perfect start as they took the lead after just eight minutes.

Jono Greening picked the ball up on the left-hand side, looked up and fired a pitch perfect pass over the top onto the foot of Tom Corner who controlled and fired home his fifth goal of the campaign.

Taddy appear to be more than able to compete at this level as continued to push forward.

Central defender Andy Milne came close to opening his account for the season after nodding agonisingly wide from six yards.

The visitors made sure Michael Ingham was kept on his toes after Bradley Knox’s audacious volley had to be tipped over.

But it was Taddy who were looking the most likely to find the net next as Conor Sellars’ overhead kick from point blank range was headed off the goal line.

It was certainly a tale of two halves however as the visitors came out with a greater sense of urgency.

Ingham had to tip over once more four minutes into the half when Dimitri Tuanzebe looked to loop a shot over the towering goalkeeper.

Full-back Robbie Bromley came incredibly close for the away side after cutting inside and curling a beauty which struck the left-hand upright.

The visitors had the majority of the possession in the second forty five but struggled to find the real quality in the final third.

Chances for The Brewers to extend their lead in the second half were few and far between but Corner had a decent opportunity to establish a cushion.

Adam Baker’s cross was met by the steaming in Corner who could only head straight at Christopher Thompson.

Clitheroe continued to push and push hard for an equaliser but the end product was lacking for the Lancastrians.

Tuanzebe hooked over from a matter of yards after a spot of six yard box pinball.

Along with Ingham; the back four of Barrett, Milne, Anderson and Shepherd were solid as a unit once again as they recorded their fourth clean sheet of the season.

The Team
