Gary Stohrer has left Shaw Lane
Highly-rated right-back Gary Stohrer is a free agent after Shaw Lane AFC manager Craig Elliott made the difficult decision to release his loyal player.
Stohrer was the first player to follow Elliott from Ossett Town to Barnsley in February 2014. He has been a major part of Shaw Lane’s success in the past two years which has seen them win two promotion and reach the FA Vase quarter-finals.
Elliott said: “It is the right decision, but it was a very hard one to make because Gary has been a fantastic player for Shaw Lane.”
Elliott has signed Northwich Victoria captain Alex Byrne, who is a right back. He was on the bench during the 2-1 win at Leek Town on Saturday.
