Shirebrook Town 3-3 Westella & Willerby
Westella & Willerby striker Alex Wood scored, but was then controversially sent off
Ten man Westella & Willerby gained another point after a topsy-turvy draw at Shirebrook Town.
Manager Leon Sewell welcomed back Luke Salas and Garry Flounders to the selected squad and it was Salas who came close to open the scoring in the first minute only to fire into the keepers arms.
Danny Moore fired Westella in to the lead on 12 minutes, Moore pinching the ball from a Shirebrook defender and rifled the ball into the bottom corner.
Two minutes later and it was one apiece through some sloppy play from Westella, a Shirebrook cross was saved well at close range by Exall only for Shirebrook Will Wraith to score from close range.
Just under Half an hour played and Westella where in control of the game playing up the sloping pitch when all of sudden the game turned.
Salas gave the ball away cheaply in the middle of the pitch and a cute ball saw the Mark Robinson go through on goal to score for 2-1.
Westella responded immediately, more so Salas delivering a inch perfect back post free kick for Alex Wood to fire home for 2-2.
Two minutes later Wood was taking an early shower receiving a harsh straight red card for what the referee deemed as a dangerous tackle.
A slight change in formation from Westella manager Sewell saw his side grit their teeth and get to the half time whistle at 2-2.
Westella started the second half brightly and somehow managed to go behind on 50 minutes failing to clear their lines from a corner, on hand was the Shirebrook captain Wraith to tap home.
With the home side piling on the pressure Westella captain Matt Fyvie ensure there where no gaps in his defence with Dodson, Oakshott and Hewitt cancelling out any threat.
Young Salas did well to gain his side a free kick 25 yards out from goal just before the hour mark, Lewis Andrews placed the ball and picked his spot superbly curling the ball in to the top corner for 3-3.
Shirebrook tried to throw everything they had at Westella but struggled to find a way through with some wayward long distance efforts that did not cause any trouble to Exall at all.
Heading in to five minutes of injury time substitute Lucas Collishaw played through Garry Flounders on goal to win the game only to be given off side.

“What a crazy game we have had today. six goals, a very pedantic referee showing a red and four yellows and that’s just to our team with no bad tackles at all.
“Credit due to the 10 lads who worked extremely hard for 65 minutes, the longer the game went on I was more convinced we’d go on and win the game but the most important part of today was the unity and character to not loose the game.
“If we keep Woody on the pitch we would have won the game, as far as I’m concerned.
“We must take the unity and character in to Wednesday night’s home game against AFC Emley with the aim of three points.”
