Emirates FA Cup
Gary Allanson hopes Queensgate is packed to the rafters for the biggest game at Bridlington Town for some time.
FA Cup heroes Bridlington, who have already surprised many by beating two North East teams, host National League North giants Harrogate Town at the second qualifying round stage.
Allanson expects it to be a fantastic afternoon for Toolstation NCEL Premier Division side Bridlington, regardless of the result.
“The FA Cup has brought excitement and from the club’s point of view it is the first time we have been at this stage for 13 or 14 years,” Allanson told Non League Yorkshire.
“That is great and to get Harrogate Town, who are a massive club, is a huge bonus. They should bring a decent crowd so everything should be set for a fantastic day.
“We have played Scarborough in the Vase and in the league a few times when the ground has been packed so it is going to be up there with some of those games. It is the type of game that we are in the game for.
“It is also what the club needs and it is a confidence booster for the players we have got. We just have to make sure we play the game of football, not the occasion.
“We know it is going to be very difficult and tough for us. All our players need to be at 100%.”
