Former Leeds United winger Seb Carole snatched a victory out of the jaws of defeat as Knaresborough Town stunned promotion rivals Hallam with a late rally.

Knaresborough were losing 3-2 until the second minute of injury-time when they miraculously scored twice to steal all three points.

Knaresborough did actually twice in a ferocious opening to the match. Colin Heath gave the Manse Laners the lead before Jed Phillips quickly levelled for Hallam.

Carole then scored with a fantastically curled effort.

Hallam suffered two further blows in quick succession. Star striker Jake Currie went off injured, as did goalkeeper David Darwent which forced outfield player Max Pemberton to go between the sticks.

It didn’t affect Hallam though as Chapell equalised early in the second half before new signing Christian Savage put them in front for the first time on the hour mark.

Everything was going to plan for Hallam until Jonty Maulin seemingly snatched a draw for Knaresborough – a minute before the penalty award which allowed them to win it.
