Craig Wood says he hopes that the Dan Wilkinson Foundation will become a charity that will help save lives.
The Shaw Lane AFC chairman, with Dan’s family’s blessing, is spearheading the fundraising to set up an organisation that will help provide defibrillators for grassroots clubs, screening for players, along with vital medical training for volunteers.
Over £3,000 has been raised in less than 48 hours on a CrowdFunding page that be found HERE.
In the interview, Mr Wood also talks about the traumatic week and the special bond that has been formed between Shaw Lane and Brighouse Town.
He also praises the club’s players for their bravery in agreeing to Dan’s parents Gill and Barry’s wishes that the visit of Romulus go ahead.
