Dave Anderson says Goole AFC have put Saturday behind them and they have their eye gaining their first win of the season.

Anderson is taking charge of Goole for the fifth time tonight – a trip to Ossett Town – a few days after the 6-0 defeat at Trafford.

It was a nightmare afternoon for Goole, who lost key players Curtly Martin-Wyatt, Bobby Johnson and Nathan Modest to injury during the match.

“We were terrific against Colwyn Bay and Kendal Town and comfortable against Ossett Albion when we got a point,” said Anderson, who has drawn two and lost two of his games in charge.

“Injuries caught up with us on Saturday and we just have to move on and forget about it. It was a very bad day at the office and it won’t happen again.

“We do need points quickly, but at least we’re still in and around it.

“I’m sure it will come together. It is going to take time, but I have every confidence that we move up the table.”

Anderson hopes to be able to field new signings Louis Kirk and Lewis Dennison. Kirk played for Anderson at Barton Town Old Boys and joins from Bridlington Town. Dennison arrives from Brigg Town. Goalkeeper Jody Barford is also in line for his second appearance after making his debut on Saturday.
