Garforth Town manager Rob Hunter is unfazed by the criticism he has received in recent weeks.
One or two Garforth supporters have had their knives out for Hunter during the seven-game losing streak which ended with the tremendous 4-2 win over Albion Sports on Saturday.
Hunter only took charge of the Miners in May.
“Everybody gets criticism from time to time, but the problem is that the guys doing the criticising, they don’t understand what has happened at Garforth,” Hunter told Non League Yorkshire.
“We have started from scratch in the summer. There are a couple of players left from last season and it was always going to be tough. None of the players have played together before.
“I said to (the owners) Brian (Close) and Craig (Bannister) right at the beginning that it may take us until October or November to get settled down and find a formula that works for us.
“It was always going to be a difficult start for us and we’ve played Hemsworth away, Worksop away, Cleethorpes away. But in the last few games I’ve seen the performances coming together.
“People can criticise, that’s their prerogative, as long as they don’t get on the players’ back and try and stay positive.
“It hasn’t hurt me. There is a couple of people who are vocal and I think over-vocal. The criticism comes five minutes into a game sometimes when it hasn’t been deserved.
“You get that every club. Fortunately it is supporters, not the owners that are doing it!”
