Handsworth Parramore can move one step closer to the holy grail of the First Round proper tomorrow.

Parramore are two wins ahead of the third qualifying round tie at Evo Stik Division One South side Lincoln United. The Sheffield-based side have already gone further than ever before in the competition.

“It is a very exciting period for the club,” Mick Godber told Non League Yorkshire.

“We’re in the third qualifying round of the FA Cup, we’re doing well in the league and the crowds are getting a little better. There’s a lot of excitement around the place.

“People are saying is it a good draw? It is if you look at the sides in it, but I’m sure Lincoln will say the same. If they could have picked anyone, it would have been us or Mansfield because we’re the lowest ranked teams.

“It is an away tie against a side from a league that we have beaten two sides from. We go there with no fear and they’re the favourites.

“They beat Nuneaton in the last round so we have to be on our game. But let’s not forget we’ve had a good run and we don’t want to chuck it away when we are so close.

“I’m holding onto the fact we haven’t lost an away game yet. We have won all our away games.”

Parramore’s run represents a chance for Godber to add some more FA Cup memories to his own scrapbook.

“I got to the first round once with Alfreton Town and I’ve also got to the fourth qualifying round five times and lost them all,” chuckled Godber.

“I’d like to put it right as a manager and it would be great for the lads and the club.

“We had a decent run at Alfreton when we were in the Conference North. We played a few local sides and then we went to Cammell Laird and we were 2-0 down with ten minutes to go and we won 3-2.

“We then played Worksop in the last qualifying round. We drew 1-1 at their place and then beat in extra-time at home.

“We drew Macclesfield in the first round and they were top of League Two at the time. We lost in the replay.

“They are good memories and it would be great for the club if we could get a bit further by getting a result at Lincoln.”
