Spencer Fearn said Maltby Main defended like kids in the 6-0 defeat at Pickering Town.
Maltby only trailed 1-0 at half-time to Niall Tilsley’s goal on the stroke of the break.
But the floodgates opened and Ryan Cooper (2), Ged Dalton, Joe Danby and Russ Parker scored.
Fearn said: “The second half was one of the worst I have witnessed. We gifted them the first three goals with defending you would see at a kids game and then gave up.
“We’ve had some terrible luck so far this season with injuries. we have some key players back but have lost three more to injury the past week, all defenders, making the absentee list seven. But no matter who is in the side we need more heart than we showed today. The performance was not acceptable.
“We have a good set of lads here at Maltby and we had an open and honest discussion after the game and there is a willingness to put this right.”
Harrogate Railway lost 2-1 at Thackley. Ben Joyce got both goals for high-flying Thackley. Greg Kidd scored Railway’s goal.
