AFC Emley are giving former Nostell Miners Welfare striker Matty Jackson a second chance in the NCEL.
Jackson made his debut in the 4-0 win over Rossington Main on Wednesday night. He used to play for Nostell during the Alan Colquhoun era, but most recently he has been playing for Carlton in the West Yorkshire League.
A few weeks ago, he represented the FA in the Regions Cup in Romania.
Darren Hepworth said: “He is a decent talent and over the last couple of years, he has got himself fit.
“He has got goals in him and I like him. He is two-footed and he has a bit about him.
“He has played at a decent level so he has a good pedigree and he’ll be part of the squad.
“With losing Craig Billington for the short, we were keen to bring him in to shore the strike force options up.”
