Super sub Tom Haigh was the hero as leaders Brighouse Town opened up a five point gap after beating fellow high-flyers Farsley Celtic.

Brighouse had to come from behind to claim their victory, which was watched by a bumper crowd of 323.

Farsley were leading at half-time as Richard Marshall fired the ball into the top corner from 20 yards.

Haigh helped Brighouse draw level minutes after coming on in the second half. His low cross was then accidentally turned into his own net by Chris Howarth.

The winner was found with 12 minutes to go. Ruben Jerome’s strike was parried by Graeme McKibbin and Haigh was on hand to score the rebound.

Haigh was involved in controversy moments later as his lunge on Marshall sparked a fracas – which ended with Farsley striker James Walshaw being sent off after getting involved in a tangle with former Celts goalkeeper Tom Taylor.
