In-form Ashley Jackson fired Ossett Town to within four points of the play-offs with a double in the solid win at Lancaster City.

It was an excellent victory for Grant Black’s side at a notoriously hostile and difficult place to visit.

Both sides hit the post in a tight first half – Louis Mayers for Lancaster and Steve Ridley for Ossett.

Lancaster had a goal disallowed straight after the interval. Ossett had to hold their nerve through some Lancaster pressure, which they successfully did before the opener.

That came from an Ossett corner that Lancaster failed to clear. The ball dropped to Jackson and he shot through a crowded six-yard-box to score.

Jackson wrapped the points up from the penalty spot after Danny Frost was taken down.
