Ossett Town came within two minutes of beating Darren Kelly’s Hyde United until an equaliser meant they had to settle for a point.

The controversial encounter saw Hyde’s Joe Pugh and Ossett’s Sam Wright sent off following an altercation.

Ossett put themselves in front straight after half-time through in-form Ashley Jackson’s header.

Ossett were holding on until James Burke equalised with three minutes to go.

Ossett Albion and Brighouse Town also had to settle for a 1-1 draw at the Dual Seal Stadium.

Jimmy Eyles placed Ossett ahead in the first half, but Ruben Jerome levelled things up two minutes after the break.

Tadcaster Albion and Burscough was goal-less, while Matty Turnbull’s header saw in-form Scarborough Athletic past Clitheroe.
