Here is the eleventh in of a weekly series profiling players across the region. Each week, a different player will reveal their best (and worst) moments from their football career. This week it is the turn of Goole AFC goalkeeper Jody Barford.

Previous Clubs: Tadcaster, Northallerton, Retford, Selby, Ossett Albion, Garforth, Brigg, Cleethorpes, Winterton and a few others I’ve helped out along the way.
Day Job: NVQ Assessor (leisure) ALP Tutor
Best mate in football: Met some great lads and have some fond memories over the years, there’s way too many to mention. Still keep in touch with so many from various teams and they are my mates outside of footy as well (they know who they are) Been reunited with a good man in Jake Stannard recently and he’s a top lad, great player. but all the lads at Goole are good honest lads which is great.
Description of Career Highlight: Has to be our excellent FA Cup run with Ossett Albion when we nearly got in the first round proper, only to get beat at the final hurdle at Bradford PA.
Description of Lowest Moment: A leg break and putting about three stone on in 2005. And getting beat by Bradford PA as I’ve said previous was so gutting. Start of this season was pretty low too, nearly packed in as I wasn’t enjoying footy.
Description of Most Memorable Match: Beating Ferriby when they were flying in that cup run, was even better as I’m a Ferriby lad originally. No one talked to me in the local after.
First semi-professional manager: Wayne Day at Tadcaster Albion in the 1999-2000 season.
Description of First Red Card (at semi-professional level): Red card – For Tadcaster away at shirebrook after five minutes. I had driven there on my own too! Long drive home that one.
Description of First Goal (at semi-professional level): Never scored in non league, got a fair few locally though helping out my mates as a make shift striker when fixtures allow. Scored whilst in goal a couple of times but only ever on a Sunday.
What do you want to achieve in football in the future: Play as high up the pyramid I can and enjoy each game as long as my body can hack it!
Favourite Non League Ground to play at (barring your own club): Always liked Winterton and Brigg’s ground good pitches and facilities. I liked playing at Curzon Ashton because its like a carpet.
