Brighouse Town moved back to the top of the table for at least 24 hours after the goal-less draw.

A win or draw for Farsley Celtic or Glossop North End tonight will see Brighouse drop back down to either second or third.

Scoring goals remains the issue for Brighouse, having failed to score in three of their last four matches. Because of injuries, Paul Quinn was also forced to play centre-back Dan Illingworth up front.

The home side created three good chances in the first half, but the second saw little creativity.

Trafford almost nicked the points right at the death after catching Brighouse out on the break. Only brave and heroic goalkeeping from Tom Taylor, plus a further block from a Brighouse defender, prevented the visitors from scoring.

The Team

Brighouse Town: Taylor, Field, Pearson, Pollard, Buchanan (Bunch 70), Low, Watson, Atkinson, Illingworth, Parkin, Haigh (Robinson 77). Subs unused: Stead, Charlton.
