Ossett Town jumped into the play-offs and moved to within a point of top spot following the 3-0 home victory over Burscough.

Their latest victory underlines just how much progress has been made under Grant Black, who is carving out a reputation as one of the brightest young managers in the Evo Stik.

Ossett wasted no time in taking the game to Burscough. After just eight minutes, Steve Ridley crossed for Danny Frost to head home.

Former Shaw Lane AFC striker Frost then turned provider with the pass for Alex Peterson to score from.

Anthony Mackie sealed Ossett’s victory in the second half.

New leaders Farsley Celtic were held to a goal-less draw by Ramsbottom United at Throstle Nest.
