Stocksbridge had to pull off a spectacular comeback from 3-1 down early in the second half to continue their FA Trophy adventure.

Kidsgrove struck twice in the opening half-hour before a Harrison Biggins penalty brought the Steels back into it.

But a further Kidsgrove goal on the counter attack straight after half-time really tested Stocksbridge’s resolve and Kidsgrove must have thought their name was in the hat for the next round.

On loan Sheffield United winger Nathaniel Crofts started the fight-back after some tricky.

Biggins then made himself a hero with a stunning free kick to level the tie.

Stocksbridge took control with two goals in the final 20 minutes. Non League Yorkshire’s October Player of the Month Joe Lumsden broke the offside trap for the fourth before Scott Ruthven sealed it.

The Steels are one win away from matching their Trophy record from last season.
