Shaw Lane AFC boss Craig Elliott believes young striker Jake Beesley has earned the chance to be involved with the Chesterfield first team.
Beesley, whose one-month loan deal with Shaw Lane finished last week, is in the Spireites’ squad for the League One trip to Fleetwood Town tomorrow.
“Chesterfield picked up a couple of injuries last week so he is with the first team tomorrow,” Elliott told Non League Yorkshire.
“It is great for him. I spoke to the assistant manager Richie Humphreys and he’s said that if some of the injured players come back next week then we can have Jake back on a longer loan deal.
“Richie Humphreys came to the Whitby Town game and Jake had a good game so I think he deserves the chance.
“He’s come to Shaw Lane and worked hard. Sometimes when Pro players join semi-pro clubs, some say Non League is not for them.
“But Jake has been different and he has really bonded with the lads. If he doesn’t come back to us, I wish him all the best. He’s been a real pleasure to manage.”
Shaw Lane are due to visit Bedworth tomorrow.
