Billy Miller admits that threadbare Tadcaster Albion may need to dip into the transfer market.
Tadcaster face Brighouse Town tomorrow without Gregg Anderson, Jonathan Greening, Michael Ingham and Andy Milne. Key striker Tom Corner is also likely to miss the game due to injury.
Miller told Non League Yorkshire: “Gregg Anderson won’t be out for too long and Michael Ingham will be back soon which will be convenient as Gary Stevens goes away in a couple of weeks.
“Milney is only away for a few days so that is not a long term thing. We don’t know the extent of Tom Corner’s injury, but obviously Josh Greening will come back into it (tomorrow).
“It certainly isn’t a good situation. We certainly have the bodies to get eleven on the field, but we will see what is out there. Before Saturday might be too early to do business.
“It is the kind of time where you may start calling in one or two favours.”
Tadcaster suffered a harsh last gasp defeat to Ossett Town in midweek – their second loss on the spin.
Miller refused to be disheartened though.
“Football can be cruel and you don’t always get what you deserve,” he said.
“We have probably been the better side, but we can’t feel sorry for ourselves. It is the first time in 18 months that we have lost back-to-back league games.
“We shouldn’t be despondent. The league is as open as it has ever been and two wins on the spin and you’re right back in it (the play-offs) again.”
